Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. She was raised by a mother who was an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from the age of 6. She show puppet shows for her neighbors. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire if the actress would be keen to work in show business. McCormick had her first significant role when she got a part as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon she was given the main character in Wind It up and It Breaks, a play in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. The book revealed that McCormick almost lost her virginity while on stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 at the time while he was.
